New Motion Labs is a driven collection of scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, dedicated to developing and licensing revolutionary designs for Mechanical Engineering. Nearly every mechanical component will contain a gear, belt or roller-chain drive. They all have one thing in common. They transfer power on one side of the tooth, and we refer to this as ‘single engagement.’ From the roller chain drives on bikes and e-bikes, to belt drives on conveyors and gear drives in transmissions. This method of engagement leads to shortcomings for each technology. Our first technology, DUAL ENGAGEMENT is a revolutionary method of transferring power on both sides of the sprocket tooth, leading to many advantages over roller-chains, increasing efficiency, strength and lifetime at smaller weights and sizes. Our technology enables a more efficient, more sustainable world, with smaller, lighter products with greater lifetimes.
