Beta Bugs is an insect genetics company that develops and distributes high-performance Black Soldier Fly breeds to insect farmers. The company's long-term mission is to increase the productivity of our sector, enabling insect protein to compete on price point with existing feed ingredients such as fishmeal and soymeal. In order to deliver this mission, Beta Bugs operates a breeding programme to develop high-performance Black Soldier Fly: HiPer-Fly®, and a Black Soldier Fly egg production site: The Multiplier®, where it produces and supplies its breeds to the UK and international markets. Headquartered at Easter Bush Campus, a centre of excellence for animal genetics, it has built a long-term collaboration with the Roslin Institute, creators of Dolly the Sheep and leaders in animal genetics.
